Notion AI adds drafting, summarizing and search inside Notion’s workspace for a per-seat fee. It is convenient if you already live in Notion — but if the AI is the main draw, dedicated alternatives may offer more for less.
Notion’s closest rival — AI writing, tables and automations bundled without a separate per-seat AI fee.
عرض Coda AI →AI that spans docs, tasks and time tracking — stronger if your workspace is project-heavy rather than doc-heavy.
عرض ClickUp Brain →Local-first notes with community AI plugins that connect to any model — no subscription and full data ownership.
عرض Obsidian + plugins →If your notes live in Google Docs instead, Gemini’s Workspace integration is the native equivalent.
عرض Gemini →Upload or connect your documents and use the strongest general model for drafting and summarizing.
عرض ChatGPT →An AI-native notes app built around automatic organization and retrieval rather than AI as an add-on.
عرض Mem →The most common complaints are the per-seat add-on price, AI that stays confined to Notion content, and quality that trails dedicated models. Several alternatives bundle similar AI at lower cost or with broader reach.
Notion AI is a per-member add-on on top of workspace plans. Coda includes AI with paid plans, and Obsidian’s plugin route costs only what you pay the model provider.
Obsidian — notes stay on your device, and you choose which (if any) cloud model touches them.
Obsidian’s core app is free for personal use, and free tiers of ChatGPT or Gemini cover much of the drafting and summarizing workflow.
