The 'AI Winter' Takes Keep Aging Poorly
Every few months someone calls the top. The deployments say otherwise.
A recurring genre this year is the 'AI winter is coming' essay, usually citing a stalled demo or a funding wobble. Each one ages badly as the next capability ships.
That doesn't mean the hype is all real. Plenty of pilots die, and some labs are burning cash faster than they earn it. But 'winter' implies a field that stops, and this one keeps shipping.
The honest frame is a normal boom: excess, failure, and real adoption happening at once. We had the same with cloud and mobile.
If you're waiting for AI to go away before you learn it, you'll be waiting through the part where it becomes background infrastructure.
