ElevenLabs Bills by the Character, and Long Reads Add Up
The voice clone is uncanny. The meter is the part you forget until the invoice.
I cloned a voice for a prototype and it was good enough my mother didn't notice. Then I narrated a 40-page report and watched the character count sprint.
At five dollars to start it's a steal for a demo. At scale, per-character pricing means a long audiobook costs real money fast. Budget before you generate, not after.
Also: it mispronounced our product name and I had to splice. The clone is great, not perfect.
Use it for the narration you'd otherwise skip. For a book, price it like a narrator, because that's what it is.
