My Prompt Library Is an Embarrassment and I'm Keeping It
Half of it is outdated. The other half is gold. Both earn their keep.
I have a folder of saved prompts, and I'm honest that a third of it no longer works on current models.
The rest is muscle memory I'd lose without the file. 'Summarize this as if I'm the boss' is worth more than it sounds.
People treat prompt libraries like code repos that must stay clean. Mine's a junk drawer, and junk drawers work.
I prune twice a year, not weekly. The cost of a stale prompt is one bad output, not a fire.
Keep the library. Just don't pretend it's a finished product.
