Why I Use Fireflies for the Hard Stuff and Scite for Everything Else

I tried both on my laptop during a boring Sunday. That's the whole test.

I put Fireflies and Scite through the same meeting tasks last month instead of reading another ranked list.

On price, Fireflies joins for free and bills $10 for search, while Scite is free for lookup and $8 for alerts. For someone who ships daily, that's the real decider.

Where they overlap, Fireflies auto-joins your calls and tags the action items. Scite shows how a paper was cited, supportively or not. I kept both installed for a reason.

Fireflies auto-joins your calls and tags the action items. Scite is a niche tool you open only for one job - that gap showed up the moment I exported the file.

If you teams who never take notes on purpose, keep Fireflies. If you anyone writing a literature review, Scite is the one. I landed on Fireflies for depth, Scite for speed after a week of switching back and forth.

It will happily record a call you forgot it was in. The smart citation context saved me from a bad claim.

Opened it, did the thing, closed it. Perfect.
