The Video Fight Nobody Wins Cleanly: Synthesia vs Notion AI

Marketing told me both of these are the best. They can't both be right.

I put Synthesia and Notion AI through the same video tasks last month instead of reading another ranked list.

On price, Synthesia starts at $22 and climbs with avatars, while Notion AI adds $8 on top of your workspace. For someone who hates subscriptions, that's the real decider.

Where they overlap, Synthesia makes a talking-head video with an avatar that doesn't yawn. Notion AI summarizes the doc you are already reading without leaving it. I kept both installed for a reason.

Notion AI summarizes the doc you are already reading without leaving it. Synthesia looks uncanny the moment you stare at the face. Neither is broken; they argue about different things.

If you companies mass-producing training videos, keep Synthesia. If you Notion addicts who never close the tab, Notion AI is the one. I landed on Notion AI after a week of switching back and forth.

The avatar lip-sync is scary good in short clips. It reads your whole workspace, which is either a feature or a risk.

I still don't trust the category. But at least now I know which one lies less.
