I Read 50 AI Job Postings. The Pattern Was Ugly.
Everyone is hiring for AI. Almost nobody can say what the job is. A field report from the listings.
I went looking for what an "AI strategist" actually does and came back disappointed. Half the postings wanted someone who could do three jobs and list twelve tools.
The most honest posting said, in effect: we do not know yet, we need a smart person to figure it out. I respected that one. The rest pretended the role was carved in stone.
A pattern: the more buzzwords in the title, the less defined the work. "AI-driven growth hack evangelist" was a real one. I am still not sure what they sell.
If you are hiring, write the boring version. Say what the person will ship in month one. The good candidates can smell a vague mandate from a mile away and they swipe past.
If you are job hunting, the opening is real but the title is noise. Read the responsibilities. If those are also noise, the job probably is too.
