I Tried Replacing My Notes App With a Chatbot. Three Weeks In.
It remembers everything and owns none of it. That's the deal.
I stopped opening my notes app and started dumping thoughts into a chat. Three weeks later I have no notes, just a very long thread.
The upside is search that actually understands me. 'The thing about the pricing page' returns the right exchange.
The downside is I never see the body of my thinking. A note you can skim beats a chat you must interrogate.
I've gone back to writing notes, then asking the chatbot to summarize them. Best of both, slightly more steps.
A chatbot is a great librarian and a terrible shelf. Keep the shelf.
