I used AI to write a book blurb and then rewrote every word

The draft was competent and forgettable. The rewrite is what sold the book. Both steps mattered.

I needed a back-cover blurb and stared at the blank box for an hour. I gave the model the book's premise and three comparable titles and got a clean, correct, completely forgettable paragraph.

It was useful as a skeleton - it had the structure a blurb needs and none of the voice. I kept the shape, threw out the phrasing, and wrote the lines that actually make someone pick the book up.

The model saved me from the blank page, which is real value. But the words that worked were mine, because a blurb is a promise in a specific voice and no generic draft can keep that promise.

Use AI to break the freeze, not to skip the craft. The freeze is the expensive part; the craft is the part worth doing.
