The AI Agent Hype Versus My Actual Inbox

Another month, another tool that promises the moon.

Every launch this month promised an agent that does the work for me. My inbox says otherwise: the agents are good at starting things and bad at finishing them.

Here is the thing, though: Gemini Agent and Dots are genuinely useful for the first 80 percent, then they hand me a half-done task and a polite summary.

What actually happened: I treat them as interns now, not employees. Give a narrow job, check the result, never let them send on my behalf without a look.

I will use it, just not the way they pitch it.
