AI Tool Comparison
ChatGPT is quietly better than Claude and I don't know why
Claude and ChatGPT do overlapping jobs. Here's who should actually use which, after using both.

Claude
AI assistant for reasoning and long-form work
Claude is a strong AI assistant for analysis, long-form writing, summarization, and thoughtful reasoning tasks.
ChatGPT
AI assistant for writing, coding, and research
ChatGPT is one of the most popular AI tools for writing, brainstorming, coding help, research, and everyday productivity tasks.
The honest comparison
I went in expecting to be sold something, and mostly was.
Claude earns its keep in one specific way: writes the calmest, most careful long-form of the bunch.. Its long documents and a careful, even tone is the part I keep coming back for.
Then there's ChatGPT, which takes a different bet: handles almost any task you throw at it without complaining.. The catch: still makes up a fact when you least expect it.
Where they actually split is on the real test is at 11pm when you stop proofreading. Claude refuses more often than it should on harmless things, while ChatGPT still makes up a fact when you least expect it.
My call: pick on the failing you can live with, not the feature list.
If you only remember one line: Claude is the safer default, ChatGPT is the one to reach for when the job is weird.
