Descript Edits the Recording. Zapier Sends the Clip. I Finally Stopped Doing Both by Hand.

Descript lets me edit a recording by editing text, which is the only editing interface my brain accepts. Zapier takes the exported clip and posts it, logs it, and resets the reminder. For too long I did the post step by hand and told myself it built character. It built resentment.

Descript stops at the exported file. It has no idea where your audience is. Zapier starts at the file and has no idea what's in it. The seam is a Zap that watches the export folder and pushes to the channels. That one connection is the difference between 'I should post more' and 'it posts.'

The trap is expecting Descript to be a scheduler or Zapier to be an editor. I tried Zapier's content steps to 'improve' the clip and got mush. I tried Descript's publish and it was a half-feature. Each is best at its own end of the line.

Keep Descript if you record and edit. Keep Zapier if you publish often. Need both, you already know. The daily content grind is exactly where the pair earns its keep.
