Grammarly
AI writing assistant for grammar, clarity, and tone
Grammarly helps users improve grammar, tone, clarity, and writing quality across documents, emails, and daily communication.
Teal
AI-powered job search and resume optimization platform
Teal helps job seekers track applications, improve resumes, and organize their job search workflow more effectively.
The honest comparison
Grammarly polishes grammar, tone, and clarity across everything you type. Teal is a career tool: it tailors resumes to job descriptions, tracks applications, and preps you for interviews. One is about the sentence; the other is about the outcome.
I ran a cover letter through Grammarly first to kill the typos, then through Teal to match the posting's keywords and tone. Grammarly made it correct; Teal made it relevant. Correct-but-generic loses to relevant every time.
The overlap is only at the document level. Grammarly has no opinion about whether you're qualified; Teal has no opinion about your comma splices. Using one instead of the other leaves half the job undone.
Verdict: clean up your writing, Grammarly. Win the application, Teal. Job seekers should use both, in that order.
