The limit of Notion AI is that it knows your notes, not your audience. It organizes; it doesn't perform. Tome assumes someone is scrolling and paces accordingly, which is a different skill.
But Tome starts empty and wants a prompt, while my material was already in Notion. The fix was letting Notion AI draft the beats, then pasting those few lines into Tome, not the whole notebook.
For internal recaps, Notion AI. For a narrative someone else will read, Tome. The trap was dumping everything into the pretty tool instead of giving it just the story.
