Writesonic's pitch is volume: give it a keyword, get a post. I generated one and it was readable, structured, and forgettable, the kind of article that fills a category page and helps no one. ChatGPT, given the same keyword plus 'here's my angle,' made me argue with it and the result had a point.

The difference is what 'finished' means. Writesonic hands you a closed draft you then have to inject opinions into, which is the hard part it skipped. ChatGPT forces the opinion out of you during the chat, so the draft arrives with the spine already in. I kept the ChatGPT one because editing a strong draft beats rescuing a weak one.

Writesonic is not worthless; for a 'vs' roundup where the facts are stable, its template is fine and fast. But the posts that earn traffic on my site are the ones with a stance, and stances don't come from a one-click generator. They come from the uncomfortable part of writing, which ChatGPT at least shares with me.

Cost-wise Writesonic looks like a deal until you count the hours fixing the flat ones. ChatGPT looks slower until you count the rewrites you didn't need. Your mileage depends on whether 'done' or 'yours' is the metric.

Verdict: Writesonic for the pile, ChatGPT for the piece. If your blog's job is to be found and trusted, the pile ages badly.
