Claude is my scriptwriter. Give it the episode goal and the three points, and it returns a tight spoken draft that sounds like a person, not a teleprompter. That alone justifies the subscription on podcast weeks.
Descript is where the recording becomes the edit. I read Claude's script, record in Descript, then cut by deleting words in the transcript. The filler-word pass cleans the natural pauses Claude's script ironically reintroduced when I ad-libbed.
The breakage was formatting. Claude handed me Markdown with stage directions in brackets; Descript choked on the brackets and I spent a session cleaning them by hand. Now I ask Claude for 'plain spoken lines, no markup' and the handoff is clean.
Verdict: Claude to author, Descript to produce. The two only fight at the交接点, and a one-line prompt fix removed the fight.
