KI-Tool-Vergleich
Cursor Builds the Tool. Zapier Runs It. One Without the Other Is Half a Job.
A coding agent and an automation service. The dream is build-and-ship in one place, but the seam is where the value is.

Der ehrliche Vergleich
Cursor writes the script that does the thing. Zapier is the thing running on a schedule without a server to babysit. I built a small internal tool in Cursor, then realized I'd have to host it, monitor it, and remember it exists. Zapier took that last part and removed it from my life.
Cursor's strength is creation: it'll scaffold an API, a parser, a UI. Its weakness is runtime. It doesn't ping you when the cron job fails at 2am. Zapier's strength is exactly that uptime and the hundred app connections. Its weakness is it won't write the logic for you when it gets weird.
The honest split: do the hard, bespoke part in Cursor, then wrap the boring recurring part in Zapier. I tried to make Cursor 'just run it' and ended up maintaining a server I didn't want. I tried to make Zapier do custom logic and hit its ceiling in an afternoon.
If you build once and run never, Cursor alone. If you run the same thing daily, Zapier alone covers simple cases. For build-plus-operate, the pair is the answer, and the seam between them is the actual product.
