Grammarly Fixed My Tone. Zapier Fixed My Workflow. Stop Comparing Them.

I once spent a quarter convinced I should cancel one of these. Grammarly and Zapier. As if they were fighting for the same job. They aren't even in the same building. Grammarly reads the sentence you just wrote and suggests it sound less like a lawsuit. Zapier takes that sentence, once it's approved, and fires it to ten places without you touching it.

The confusion came from a dashboard where both showed up as 'AI tools I pay for.' But Grammarly has no concept of a workflow. Zapier has no concept of a comma splice. Put them on a spectrum and they're at opposite ends: one is a proofreader who never leaves the paragraph, the other is a courier who never reads the paragraph.

Where they meet is the send button. Grammarly makes sure the email isn't rude. Zapier makes sure the email goes to the right six people the moment a form fills. Neither replaces the other; together they handle the part of my job I used to do by hand and resent.

So I kept both. The only real overlap was my own lazy accounting. If you're deciding between them, you're asking the wrong question. Buy the one that matches the pain: sloppy writing, or manual busywork.
