Midjourney vs Leonardo: One's an Art Studio, One's a Factory

Midjourney makes images that look like someone with taste made them. Leonardo makes images that look like a system that can do anything you script. Both are true and both are the point.

I use Midjourney when I do not know what I want yet. I throw a vague idea at it and it returns something with mood. That is not efficient. It is inspiring, which is a different and underrated thing.

Leonardo is what I reach for when I know exactly what I need: a product render, ten thumbnails, a consistent character across a batch. The control is real and the throughput is the reason people run small studios on it.

The catch with Midjourney is the walled garden. You live in their Discord or their site, the outputs are theirs to a degree that matters for commercial work, and getting exact is a fight.

The catch with Leonardo is the learning curve and the fact that more control means more decisions, which means more of your time. Pick by whether you want to be surprised (Midjourney) or in charge (Leonardo).
