Midjourney Draws the World. Synthesia Anchors It With a Face. Different Hunger.

Midjourney produces images so good they've caused three arguments in my group chat about whether they're photos. Synthesia produces a presenter who says your lines without flubbing them. I once asked Midjourney for 'a spokesperson explaining our product' and got a beautiful ghost who explained nothing. That's on me, not the model.

The honest split: Midjourney is for the world your product lives in. Backgrounds, mood, hero shots, the texture of a thing that doesn't exist yet. Synthesia is for the moment a human has to appear and talk. They serve different seconds of the same video and barely touch.

Where people waste money is expecting Midjourney to do video or Synthesia to do art direction. Midjourney's rare video mode is a toy next to a real clip tool. Synthesia's scenes are flat next to a rendered frame. Use each where it's best and the combined piece looks like a studio made it.

My setup now: Midjourney for every still, Synthesia only when a face must speak. The rest is editing. Neither replaced the other, and pretending they compete just slows the work down.
