I ran the same task through Runway and Midjourney. Only one survived.

I gave Runway and Midjourney the same job neither was built exclusively for. Most 'versus' posts are affiliate bait, so I went in expecting nothing.

Runway is a pro toolbox of video-generation models. What sold me is that it offers more models and more control than almost any rival. The part that annoys me is that it asks for a real learning curve and a real price.

Midjourney is the stylized image generator everyone points to. Its edge is that it puts out work that looks considered, not stocky. The downside is just as real: it has no proper web app, so you live in Discord or its site.

Side by side, the same prompt through both, Runway got to something usable faster and Midjourney did the better job on the part that needed image-level care. Neither embarrassed itself, which is rare.

Verdict: if your work leans toward video, keep Runway. If it's image you actually do all day, Midjourney is the one to open first. I'm not calling a fake winner. One of these earns its tab; the other gets a bookmark, not a subscription.
