Der ehrliche Vergleich
I need sources, not vibes. So I tested both against the same three tasks.
I put Runway and Scite through the same video tasks last month instead of reading another ranked list.
On price, Runway asks $12 and burns credits fast, while Scite is free for lookup and $8 for alerts. For someone who is testing the waters, that's the real decider.
Where they overlap, Runway generates video clips with motion control that holds up. Scite shows how a paper was cited, supportively or not. I kept both installed for a reason.
Runway generates video clips with motion control that holds up. Scite is a niche tool you open only for one job - that gap showed up the moment I asked for the weird edge case.
If you filmmakers prototyping shots, keep Runway. If you anyone writing a literature review, Scite is the one. I landed on Scite after a week of switching back and forth.
Gen-4 still leads on consistency frame to frame. The smart citation context saved me from a bad claim.
Reproduce this with your own tasks before you believe my ranking.
