Turn a pile of research notes into a table with Gemini

Stop rewriting bullets by hand. Give Gemini the mess and a column spec, and get a table you can actually sort.

Research notes tend to be a wall of text: quotes, half-thoughts, links. Gemini is strong at structuring that into rows if you tell it the columns you want up front.

Specify the schema explicitly: 'Make a table with columns Source, Claim, Evidence, Confidence, and a one-line note.' Without the column list, the model invents categories that don't match your later analysis.

Paste the notes in one block rather than asking piece by piece. The model keeps consistency better when it sees the whole set, and duplicates get caught in the same pass.

Check the table for hallucinated sources. Gemini sometimes fills a 'Source' cell with a plausible but wrong citation. Verify the link or author before you trust the row.

Export the result as CSV from the model and open it in a sheet. A table you can filter beats a chat transcript the moment you need to compare ten findings at once.
