Bing's Copilot is the AI most people have technically tried, because it's stapled to the search bar. I used it as my daily driver for two weeks to see if the convenience alone made it good enough. It is fine. 'Fine' is the problem.
Claude does the thing Copilot treats as an optional extra: it holds a long thread of reasoning without quietly dropping the middle. When I pasted a 3,000-word brief and asked for the weak spots, Claude found three I'd missed. Copilot gave me a tidy summary and moved on.
Copilot's edge is live web access wired into search, which Claude can't match without you pasting links. For 'what's the latest on X,' it's faster. For 'help me think through X,' it's shallower than it looks.
The honest verdict: if you live in Edge and want quick answers, Copilot spares you a tab. If the work matters, Claude earns the extra click. Convenience is not the same as competence, and the gap shows up exactly when you need it.
