Claude Won't Draw and Midjourney Won't Write. Here's How I Actually Use Both.

I keep seeing 'Claude vs Midjourney' as if you pick one. You don't. Claude outlines the children's book I'm mocking up; Midjourney paints the spreads. The only time they 'compete' is when I'm lazy and ask Claude for an ASCII sketch, which is always terrible.

The real friction is the handoff. Claude writes a tight art-direction brief: 'warm interior, single window light, flat color, no text.' Midjourney eats that and mostly obeys, but it invents hands and signage. So I now have Claude generate five variants of the brief with explicit 'no text, no watermark' instructions, which cut my rejected generations roughly in half.

Where Midjourney genuinely loses is anything with words in the frame. I stopped fighting it and let Claude draft the caption and the landing-page copy instead. Midjourney does the hero; Claude does everything with letters.

Verdict: stop comparing them. Use Claude to think and write, Midjourney to render. The skill isn't choosing, it's writing briefs the image model can't quietly ignore.
