Descript earned its subscription by being the thing I reach for when I need audio/video. It edits the transcript and the waveform moves with it, no razor tool needed.
Leonardo AI earned its keep on image. It keeps styles consistent and gives you real control over the look, and on that work Descript would've been the wrong call.
The overlap is smaller than the comparison pages suggest. Where they touch, Descript is quicker to something usable and Leonardo AI is stronger on the image half that I actually care about.
