Runway vs Synthesia: Film vs a Friendly Robot Reading a Script

Runway and Synthesia both make 'AI video' but solve opposite problems. Runway generates footage: a scene, a product shot, a mood piece. Synthesia generates a presenter: a realistic avatar that reads your script on camera.

For training and onboarding, Synthesia is absurdly fast. Write a script, pick an avatar, ship a video with no camera, no actor, no reshoot when the script changes. Runway can't do that; it has no face to put on screen.

Runway wins when the message is visual, not verbal. A product demo, a dream sequence, a 'here's what the app does' clip. Synthesia's avatar would feel wrong there, like a newscaster narrating a music video.
