I Let ChatGPT Plan My Week. Then I Fixed the Part That Lies.
The draft is fine. The time estimates are fiction. Here's the routine that survives contact with reality.
I asked ChatGPT for a weekly plan and it produced a beautiful grid. Then I tried to follow it and missed Tuesday by noon. The plan assumed I have uninterrupted focus blocks I do not have.
The fix: give it your real constraints first -- meetings, commute, the hour you waste on email -- and tell it to plan around them, not over them. A plan that ignores your calendar is decor.
Also, ignore its time estimates. It budgets 30 minutes for things that take 90. I now multiply every estimate by two and cut the list to three must-dos a day.
Result: a shorter, honest plan I actually finish. The AI did the structure; I supplied the truth about my day.
