Turn Meeting Notes Into Action Items With ChatGPT (the 3-Line Prompt That Actually Works)
Most summaries are useless because they restate the meeting. Here's the prompt that forces owners and dates out of the mess.
I used to leave meetings with a wall of notes and zero follow-through. The fix was a prompt, not a new app.
Paste the raw transcript and add this: extract every commitment. For each, name the owner, the due date, and the one blocker. If no date was said, write UNKNOWN.
ChatGPT will try to soften it into a summary. Push back with 'no prose, just the table' and you get something you can paste into a tracker.
The trap is that it assigns owners it inferred, not stated. I now scan the owner column and correct the three it guessed.
Do this within an hour of the meeting while the context is warm, and the action items actually get done.
