From Meeting Ramble to Action Plan: A Claude Workflow

Most meeting notes are a transcript of everyone's anxiety. Claude turns them into owners, dates, and the one decision that mattered.

Most meeting notes are a transcript of everyone's anxiety. I take the messy notes and hand them to Claude with one instruction: 'Rewrite this as an action plan. Owner, deadline, and the one decision we actually made.'

The model is good at separating the five things people said from the one thing we agreed to. I always ask it to mark anything it's inferring versus what was explicitly said, because the inferred parts are where meetings lie to themselves.

I then send the plan back to the group and let them fight the assignments. Claude's draft isn't the final word; it's the first draft nobody had to write, which is the part that eats the hour.

The trap is accepting the plan uncritically. If Claude assigns a deadline nobody agreed to, you've automated a misunderstanding. I treat its output as a proposal, not a record.
