Cursor Scaffolds My Boilerplate So I Can Start at the Interesting Part
I stopped writing the same setup files by hand. Cursor generates the skeleton and I spend my attention on the logic that matters.
Every new project began with an hour of identical setup, folders, config, the same three files. I now ask Cursor to scaffold that and approve the result instead of typing it.
It reads my repo's existing style, so the generated boilerplate matches what's already there better than a generic template would. Consistency came free.
The risk is trusting it on the parts that aren't boilerplate. I keep the generation to structure and write the actual logic myself, because the model is a faster typist, not a better architect.
For the boring first hour, Cursor. For the decisions that define the system, me. I reclaimed the time I was wasting on setup and spent it where the project is actually hard.
