Building a Lesson Deck in Gamma When You're Not a Designer

Gamma turns an outline into slides faster than any template, but the raw output needs one editing pass or it looks templated.

Start from an outline, not a blank prompt. Gamma is at its best when you give it the structure (module one, module two, activity) and let it handle the visuals. A vague 'make a lesson about photos' produces a vague deck.

The first pass is always too dense or too sparse per slide. I generate, then ask Gamma to 'make slide three a single question, not three bullets,' using its inline edit. Small targeted fixes beat regenerating the whole thing.

Its icon and image suggestions are decent but generic. Swap the hero image on the title slide for something specific to your course or it reads like a SaaS ad. The text is the lesson; the picture is the first impression, so spend a minute there.

Export to editable format and present from there, not the web view, if you'll be without solid wifi. I've been burned by a live render stalling mid-lecture. The deck is done in minutes; the one download takes ten seconds and saves the demo.
