Notion AI Backfilled a Database I Abandoned in March
A half-built CRM sat empty for months. Notion AI filled the obvious fields from what I already had.
I had a Notion database of leads with most fields blank because I'd stopped maintaining it in March. Notion AI's fill feature read the notes I'd written and populated the empty columns: industry, stage, next step. Not perfectly, but faster than the blank stare I'd been giving it.
The honest result: it got the easy fields right and the nuanced ones wrong. Industry from a note was solid. 'Next step' from a vague note was a guess I had to correct. So I used it as a first pass, then skimmed the column and fixed the ten percent that was off.
That skim took fifteen minutes versus the afternoon I'd been avoiding. The database went from embarrassing to usable, and usable is what makes you actually open it again. A tool that gets you to 80% is worth more than a perfect one you never start.
If you have a database rotting with empty fields, let AI take the first pass and you take the last. The alternative is another quarter of avoidance.
