Keeping One Character Consistent Across 20 Midjourney Images
I burned fifty generations learning the one setting that keeps a face from mutating between frames.
I needed a mascot to appear in twenty scenes and Midjourney kept reinventing its face. The fix wasn't a better prompt, it was the same seed and a reference image held across every try.
The first lesson: lock one image as the character anchor and call it in each prompt with a consistent descriptor. Chasing consistency through words alone is how you get twenty different people.
The second: vary the scene, not the subject. I wrote the background fresh each time and reused the character line verbatim, so the world changed while the face stayed put. Boring to write, stable to look at.
For a brand that needs a repeat face, this is the difference between a mascot and a mess. The tool can do it; most people just don't hold the reference steady long enough to find out.
