My Midjourney Prompt Structure Stopped Producing Muddy, Samey Images

A simple subject-scene-style-shot order fixed nine out of ten of my bad generations. No fancy syntax.

My early Midjourney outputs all looked like the same dreamy mush. The problem was my prompts, not the model.

I now write every prompt in four parts: the subject, the setting, the style reference, and the shot type. A ceramic mug, on a rainy cafe table, editorial product photo, 50mm close-up.

Putting the subject first stopped the model from burying it under atmosphere. The style reference gives it a lane instead of guessing.

I keep a notes file of style words that worked: matte, overcast light, shallow depth. Reusing them made results predictable.

It still fails on hands and text, so I generate three and pick, then fix in Canva. That is faster than one perfect prompt.
