How I Use Perplexity to Check a Claim Before I Cite It
Read the inline sources, then open the one that matters. Never quote the bot.
When a statistic lands in my feed, I ask Perplexity and read the inline sources it shows, not the summary. The summary is a pointer; the source is the proof.
On a follow-up the 'pro' model wanders, and once it cited a page that had been deleted. So I only quote what it pointed to, never the answer itself.
For anything I'll publish, Perplexity is triage. It gets me to the right document fast; the verification is still my job.
Search didn't die. The first pass got shorter, and the check got more important.
