Track competitor product launches with Perplexity

Set it to watch a space and summarize what shipped, who said what, and what actually changed.

Perplexity's value here is grounding: it cites the sources, so you can verify a launch claim instead of taking a blog's word for it. Start with a focused question about one competitor's last quarter.

Ask for a dated list of launches with the source for each. The citations let you skip the hype and open the primary announcement when something matters.

Follow up with 'what did customers actually complain about' rather than 'is it good.' The second question gets a sales pitch; the first gets forum threads and reviews the model can surface.

Keep a running doc of answers per competitor. Perplexity doesn't remember prior sessions, so the discipline of saving the summary is what turns one-off lookups into a trackable picture.

Re-run the same query monthly. The changes between runs are your early signal that a rival shifted strategy before the trade press notices.
