When your Runway clip is three seconds too short, extend it properly

Runway gives you a short generator clip and often you need more runway (sorry) for the edit. The extend feature continues the scene, but a blank extension drifts.

Before extending, describe the next beat: 'camera slowly pulls back, subject remains still.' A motion direction keeps the added seconds from turning into a different shot.

I extend in small chunks rather than one long pull. Two four-second passes stay coherent; one twelve-second pass usually wanders.

Then I cut the extension into the timeline and trim the seam by a frame. The viewer never sees the join if you do not hand it a messy transition.
