Runway Fixed the One Bad Shot in My Video

I had a near-finished clip with one unusable shot, a flicker, a stray object, a moment that broke the scene. Reshooting meant a whole new setup. Runway's inpaint and extend handled it in minutes.

I masked the problem region and described what should be there, 'empty wall,' 'clear sky.' Runway generated the fix in place, keeping the lighting close enough that the cut didn't jump. Not perfect, but invisible at full speed.

The extend tool saved a second shot that ended a beat too early. I gave it 'continue the motion for two more seconds' and it bridged to the next clip. Small fix, big difference in pace.

The discipline that matters: fix only what's broken. I was tempted to 'improve' other shots and started a rabbit hole. The goal was one bad shot, not a remaster. Stay surgical.

If you edit video and haven't tried inpainting, you're reshooting things a model could patch. It's not a replacement for shooting well; it's a pardon for the one mistake that slipped through.
