Find papers that contradict your claim with Scite

Before you cite a study as proof, let Scite show you who later disagreed. A claim with counterevidence cited is a stronger claim.

Scite's smart citations label whether later papers support, mention, or contradict a source. That contradiction view is gold when you're about to treat one study as settled fact.

Search your key claim and open the most-cited paper, then read its 'contrasting' tab. You'll often find the finding was narrowed or challenged, which changes how you phrase it.

Cite the disagreement, not just the original. 'X found A, though Y later showed A doesn't hold for group B' is more honest and more useful than a single happy citation.

Check the dates. A 2021 result contradicted in 2024 should be presented as contested, not as the current word.

This habit turns shallow literature work into something defensible. You stop looking like you read one paper and started looking like you read the conversation.
