Localizing a Tutorial Video With Synthesia Instead of Re-Shooting It

Re-filming a how-to in three languages is a non-starter. Synthesia dubs the presenter so the structure stays intact.

For a tutorial with a talking-head presenter, Synthesia lets you keep the same scene and swap the spoken language with an on-screen avatar. The screens and steps don't change, which is the whole point: only the voice localizes.

Write the script per language, don't machine-translate the English one. A literal translation of 'click the hamburger' confuses non-English users; a proper localized line says what the menu is called for them. The small writing step protects the tutorial's usefulness.

Keep the on-screen text in the target language too. Synthesia can caption, but if your UI labels stay English while the voice is German, the learner stalls at the exact moment they need help. Localize the labels or annotate them.

Review the avatar's pacing in each language. Some languages need more time per sentence, and a clip that feels natural in English can feel rushed dubbed. Trim the source or slow the avatar before you ship the localized version.
