I Used an AI to Plan a Trip. The Itinerary Was Perfect, the Booking Was Chaos.

I let an AI build a three-day itinerary and it was genuinely good, balanced, and current with prices.

Then came booking, and the same tool couldn't actually hold a reservation without me doing the clicking.

That's the pattern across AI right now: brilliant at the plan, absent at the transaction.

The agents that close the loop, the ones that book the room, are where the real value lands next.

Until then, I treat AI travel help as a planner with no wallet.
