Claude's 2,000 Connectors Made My Life Noisier

Anthropic opened the Claude Marketplace in late September with more than 2,000 connectors, plugins, and partner agents in one place. I installed six in an afternoon and then spent the next week turning most of them off.
The problem wasn't quality. It was surface area. Every connector is another place a result can come from, another permission to grant, another thing to keep updated. My clean chat turned into a menu.
What stuck were the two that removed a step I did daily: one that pulls from my notes, one that files things where they belong. The other four were novelties I opened once and never needed.
More integrations isn't more reach. It's more decisions, and decisions are the tax on focus. The marketplace that wins is the one that hides everything except the one thing you need right now.
I'd rather have three tools I trust than a catalog I browse. The connector count is a marketing number, not a productivity number, and I stopped treating it like one.
