Why Your AI Writing Needs an Editor, Not a Better Prompt
You can prompt forever and still ship mush. The missing step isn't in the model, it's in the review.
People sink hours into 'the perfect prompt' and then wonder why the output is flat. Usually the prompt was fine. The missing piece is the edit, the human pass that turns a competent draft into something with a point of view.
A model optimizes for plausible and complete. An editor optimizes for true and sharp. Those are different jobs, and no prompt fully collapses them. When you skip the edit, you get text that's correct and forgettable, which is most AI writing on the internet right now.
My workflow is draft fast, then edit like it's someone else's weak first pass. Cut the throat-clearing opening, find the one claim that needs proof, replace the generic close with a real ending. That pass takes five minutes and is worth more than any prompt tweak.
Treat the model as a tireless intern with no taste, not a co-author. Interns are great for drafts; they still need an editor. The better-prompt fantasy sells courses; the edit is what actually fixes your writing.
