Cursor Wrote the Test Suite I Kept Avoiding
A scoped prompt and a reviewed diff turned a dreaded chore into ten minutes.
I told Cursor to write unit tests for one module and described the cases in plain words. It produced a suite I'd put off for a month in about ten minutes.
The fix is scope. 'Write tests for this file' gets a decent first pass; 'write tests for these three functions with edge cases' gets something I can merge.
I read every line before committing. It once tested the wrong boundary and would have passed a bug through. The speed is real; the oversight isn't optional.
Agents that touch files need the review you'd give a human. Faster doesn't mean unsupervised.
