Midjourney gave me a hero image for a deck that I'd never have commissioned from a designer on a deadline. Gamma gave me the rest of the slides in under a minute from an outline. Neither alone would have gotten me to a presentable deck that fast.
The seam was the drag-and-drop. Gamma's own image suggestions are generic and slightly off-brand; dropping in a Midjourney render on the title slide made it feel intentional. The text layout stayed Gamma's job, the visual punch stayed Midjourney's.
Where it broke: Midjourney's image had a busy background that fought Gamma's text overlay. I regenerated with negative space up top and the conflict disappeared. A small prompt change, learned the hard way, saved the deck.
Verdict: Midjourney for the one image that matters, Gamma for the structure around it. They're sequential, not competitors, and the paste is where you earn the cohesion.
