Dub a video with ElevenLabs voice cloning - and keep it honest
Cloned voice dubbing is closer than it was, but the script edit is where the quality is won or lost.
ElevenLabs can clone a voice and read a translated script over your footage. The technology is ready; the craft is in the script.
Spoken languages use fewer or more words than the original, so a direct dub leaves gaps or overruns. I re-time the translated lines to fit the on-screen beats before generating audio.
Clone only with permission, and label dubbed content as dubbed. A viewer who finds out later feels deceived, which is worse than a visible accent.
Listen for emotional mismatch. A flat clone reading an excited line undermines the whole clip, and no setting fixes a script the voice cannot sell.
