I Read 50 AI Comparison Posts So You Don't Have To

Most 'X vs Y' articles are the same template with different logos. Here's the pattern, and the few that break it.

I read fifty comparison posts across AI tools to see how much actual difference there was. The answer: the structure was identical in almost all of them, and the conclusions were suspiciously balanced.

The template is always the same. A table of features, a paragraph of praise for each, then a verdict that says 'it depends on your needs' so nobody feels excluded. That's not a comparison, it's a brochure with two logos.

The useful ones broke the pattern. They picked a specific task, ran both tools on it, and admitted which failed. A post that says 'Tool A lied about the citation and Tool B didn't, so use B for research' is worth ten balanced shrugs.

I also noticed the best comparisons came from people with a job to do, not a site to fill. A developer comparing two coding agents on a real bug writes differently than someone optimizing for search terms.

When you read these, skip to the verdict and check it's a real choice, not a hedge. If the post won't tell you which to use, it probably didn't actually test anything.
