Grammarly Caught the Passive Voice I'd Been Hiding Behind
It rewrote my hedging into sentences that sound like a person decided something.
My report was full of 'it was decided' and 'mistakes were made.' Grammarly flagged every one.
I took its rewrites where they sharpened the sentence and ignored them where they flattened my voice.
The passive voice was me avoiding saying who did what. The tool just made the avoidance visible.
I ran it last, after the thinking was done, not while drafting. Editing and writing are different muscles.
The doc read like someone stood behind it. That was the point.
