I Transcribed a Two-Hour YouTube Talk With Otter Instead of Rewatching It
Search the talk like a document. That's the only feature I needed.
I had a long conference talk to absorb and no time to watch it twice. Otter transcribed the upload.
I searched for the one term I cared about and jumped straight to that minute. Rewatch time: zero.
The speaker had an accent and Otter fumbled a few words, so I read those lines twice.
It tagged nothing, but the search was enough. I didn't need the speaker labels for a solo talk.
For any long audio I don't own, this is now step one. Watch is overrated; search wins.
